You Bring Me Joy

12/17/2024

Hi everyone!

Today I’m sharing a fun (and funny) card I created using some fun Waffle Flower products I received for Christmas!  I love adding a bit of humor to my card-making and these diving swans, with their little white butts in the air, made me laugh.  I hope you like them, too!

To make this card, I chose dies from the “Diving Swans” and “Pond with Lily Pads” die sets and cut them from white cardstock.  I ink-blended them with my Concord & 9th inks (see Supply list for colors) and assembled them using liquid glue.

I used the Pond stencil to add a few fish to the pond die cut.  I thought they were a nice addition without overpowering the focal images or distracting from the overall card.

The pond die cut has some cut outs to show the ripples in the water.  I wanted to create a bit of depth, so I ink-blended a lighter teal color and then popped up the pond over the top with foam adhesive.

I arranged all my pieces on my card front and then stamped my sentiment before adhering them with liquid glue or foam adhesive.

I love all the dimension on this card and I can’t help but smile at those little swan butts in the air!

I hope this card made you smile and that you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
