Hi everyone!
Today I’m sharing a sunny card made with the new Layered Anemone dies from the “Lisa Horton Spotlight Frames & Florals Collection” over at Spellbinders.
I absolutely love layered flower dies because they provide so much dimension to the flowers and really make them pop on a card.
I realized I hadn’t really done much lately with yellow, so I decided to make my anemones a sunny but soft yellow and orange. I used watercolor card stock and my Karin markers to add color to the petals – concentrating the darker orange toward the center.
After assembling and arranging my flowers, I framed them with a scalloped label die cut (created using 2 of the dies from the Scalloped Labels and Tags die set). I love the scalloped bottom to the frame and thought it went well with the curves of the flower petals.
I accented the card with a foiled sentiment that I created using gold foil and a few smooth gold gems for added shine.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you like this card and that it inspires you to try out layered floral dies.
I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!
So you cut 2 different sizes of the label tag die and used both. Am I correct? Beautiful card!
Thank you! Yes, I used two different sizes and nested them together and ran them through my direct machine together (at the same time). I love the nesting shape dies like this because you can create frames of different thicknesses depending on your project. So fun! And a great way to get more use out of simple shapes!
So lovely!!
This is so bright and cheerful! I love the detail on the petals and the curve of the frame that’s perfect with this design.
