Whirl Butterflies

Simon Says Stamp | Celebrate Release
05/14/2024

Hi there!

I’m popping in quickly again today to share this pretty card featuring the Whirl Butterflies dies from Simon Says Stamp.  I love that this die cuts out 2 butterflies and all their whirl details!

For this card, I kept the butterflies white and made the background bright and colorful.

I used the new Modern Flower stencil and ink-blended cool colors (green, blue, teal, and purple) with a heavy hand.  I trimmed the panel, added a bit of ink-blending to the edges of the panel, added my butterflies.  Then, I misted the entire panel with shimmer spray to give it some shine, which I then took a bit further with some gorgeous teal gems as the butterfly bodies and flight trail.  The panel was adhered to a card front using foam adhesive.

I didn’t have an intended recipient for this card, so I left it without a sentiment.  I think it is a great card that can be used for so many occasions!  Or, for no reason what-so-ever!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

HI Jean. Your card is so pretty. I like the grooves in the butterfly wings. The gems behind the butterflies make them look like they are moving.

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
