I have a confession: I love watching people make art. I could get lost in the YouTube “rabbit hole” all night long if I let myself. Between that and Pinterest, I swear I could lose weeks of time and wonder where it all went.

Where am I going with this? Well, a few weeks ago I watched a video on the Altenew channel (Altenew – Inspiring Paper Crafting Project Ideas) where Erum Tasneem (IG: @glitternswirls) created a “grungy watercolor card”. You can watch the video here.

In this case, I couldn’t go quite as “grungy” as Erum did – but I did try out the technique and got some pretty great results. Coloring (or, in this case, watercoloring) outside the lines was a mile too far for me, but I did try.

If you watch the video, Erum is great about encouraging you to use the technique and make it yours – either “grungy” or “clean and simple”. I made the orange one a little “cleaner” and the blue one a little “grungier” just to see which I would like better. What do you think? Which is your favorite?
