Trying Some Non-Traditional Holiday Color

Simon Says Stamp | Festive Fun Release
11/07/2024

Hi there!

It’s release day over at Simon Says Stamp and I’m kicking things off here on my blog with this fun snowman card featuring several new products from this release.

The new “Frosty” die set makes the cutest snowman!  I used my Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated inks to color mine in a non-traditional color scheme of orange and gray.  While I tend to love the more traditional colors for Christmas, I think he turned out adorable in his orange scarf and mittens!

I placed my snowman in front of an arched French door that I turned into a shaker using the new “Falling Snowflakes Acetate” panel that I foiled using silver foil.  I loaded the shaker with some blue, white and silver snowflake sequins that I had in my stash.

For even more frosty, snowy, goodness, I added a snowflake that I diecut using the new Heartfelt Snowflake die to the upper left corner of the door.

A simple sentiment strip and a few Pawsitively Dazzling gems, complete the card.

I hope you like this card and that it inspires you to try some non-traditional colors in your holiday card making.

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I love this scene and the orange accessories for Frosty, Jean! The arched window is perfect to stand him next to and I love that you made it a shaker card!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
