Simon Says Stamp "Let's Chill" Release
06/23/2022

Hi there!

Today I’m sharing this bright rainbow card that I made using Simon Says Stamp’s “Birthday Bears” stamp set that is part of the new “Let’s Chill” release. I fell in love with the balloon series in this set and knew they would make a perfect rainbow! Who doesn’t love a rainbow, right???

For this card, I stamped the rainbow and colored it with my Copic Markers:

Red: R24, R46, R59
Orange: YR07, YR09, YR15
Yellow: Y02, Y06, Y08
Green: YG03, YG17, YG67, G29
Blue: B18, B21, B23
Purple: V12, V15, V17

I wanted to add a little shine to this card so I used an Altenew fine tip glue pen to “color” the stamped confetti areas. I let the glue dry until it was tacky (this glue is re-positional when used once it is dry, so it remains tacky) and then added a piece of gold sequin foil over the top and rubbed it gently with a bone folder to make sure that the foil stuck to the areas where there was glue. When I removed the foil I was pleasantly surprised by the shimmer that was added! There were a few places where the glue and foil had seeped over the black outline of the stamped confetti but I just used my Copic Multi-liner pen to add them back in.

Confession: I tested this glue-and-foil technique several times before doing it on the final piece just to make sure I let the glue dry long enough and that the foil would stick like I was hoping. I’m glad I did! It took about 3 tests before I got it right and felt comfortable doing it on my finished piece.

I fussy cut the top of the balloons and mounted it with foam adhesive on a piece of patterned paper. I added a strip of the same patterned paper to the bottom along with my sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you like this project!

Have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
