Stamp Joy Fall 2021: Swap Cards

10/14/2021

Hi everyone!

This past week I was fortunate to be able to attend my first in-person Stamp Joy event!

For those of you who don’t know, Stamp Joy is a stamping/crafting event held by Taylored Expressions. I attended the event virtually earlier this year and was even more delighted to be able to attend in-person.

The event itself is 2 days of jam-packed stamping and learning (and laughing). There are classes and make-n-take sessions, lots of techniques, cute cards, and, mostly, a ton of…. well, stamping joy (the event is aptly named)!

Today, I’m sharing the card I made for the (optional) Card Swap as part of the event. This was a fun and easy card to make, and I love how bright and cheery it turned out!  I used the “ink smooshing” or “dipping” technique for the rainbow and some basic ink blending for the blue sky.  I needed 25 cards for the swap, and these techniques are great for mass producing.

I’m so glad I was able to participate in the swap – I received some amazing cards in exchange for this one!

I met so many wonderful people at Stamp Joy!  I love getting to spend time with people who share my passion for card-making and creating.

I want to give a huge shout out to all of those at Taylored Expressions! The event ran flawlessly – super organized and perfectly orchestrated! I’m so glad I went and I hope I get to go again!

Hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
