Hi everyone!
When I spend some time in my studio, I forget that I have a to-do list a mile long! I am always surprised about how much time has passed while I’m busy crafting… and also somewhat disappointed that I’m not Snow White and the birds didn’t came to clean my house while I was in there! LOL!
It has been a really busy month for me, so I’m so happy I was able to find time to make this clean and simple card using the new Forget Me Not die set from Spellbinders’ “Through The Garden Gate” collection. I just love the bright blue daintiness of Forget Me Nots! And the die set includes dies for two little ladybugs that are just darling!
For this card, I kept it super simple – I ink-blended the die cuts for the blue of the flowers and the green of the leaves and stem. I used my Copic marker for the yellow area around the center of the flowers and used a black glaze pen for the black centers.
I used a Copic marker for the red of the ladybug and accented it with the black glaze pen as well.
Once my flowers and leaves were formed and assembled, I created a card panel with some light blue ink blending where I wanted to place my flowers. It doesn’t show up well in the photos, but it is a nice soft blue that creates a sort of halo effect around the cluster.
I adhered my flower cluster to the card panel and then hot-foiled my sentiment with silver foil on black cardstock. I popped the sentiment up on the card using foam adhesive.
I didn’t add any additional sparkle to this card because I wanted to keep it clean and simple and because I felt like the shiny foil sentiment and the black glaze touches were enough.
Let me know if you like this project and I’d love to hear if you lose time in your craft room, garden, kitchen, or wherever your sanctuary is!
Hope you have a wonderfully creative day!
