Hi everyone!
Today I’m sharing a softer take on the traditional Purple Coneflower which is native to us here in Wisconsin. I made this card using the new Floral Stems die set that is part of Spellbinders’ Simon Hurley Photosynthesis Collection. This collection was released today and the Coneflower is just one of the flowers in this set. I hope you’ll check it out!
To make this card:
1.Die cut all the pieces for your flowers and stems. 2.Ink blend your die cuts with the color of your choice. I chose a soft lilac for the flowers, a pale brown for the flower centers, and a teal-green for the foliage. If you use a soft hand when ink blending you can get some nice shading for lighter and darker areas. 3.Assemble your flowers, stems and leaves: I used floam adhesive to pop up the top layer of the flowers and give them some dimension. 4.Die cut an oval from white cardstock and ink-blend it in a pale blue. 5.Do a quick arrangement – without glueing – to see where you want your flowers to be on the oval. Then stamp your sentiment in an open area on the oval. 6.Use foam adhesive to adhere the oval to a trimmed panel. 7.Use foam adhesive to adhere the trimmed panel to your card front. 8.Arrange and adhere your flowers to the card front. I used liquid glue on all of my pieces except on one leaf (bottom left corner) where I used liquid glue at the base of the leafand a foam dot at the end to give it some dimension. 9.Add a few gems for some shine.
