Simon Says Stamp | Love Garden Sentiments | Sending Love

Hi there!

Today I’m taking a break from my holiday cardmaking to share this sweet little card I created to cheer up a friend. This card features the Love Garden Sentiments stamp set that is part of the new Simon Says Stamp “To The Moon” release. I love this set! The variety of bold sentiments is amazing – “birthday wishes”, “hello”, “thanks”, and “sending love” – all are sentiments I use regularly. There are even smaller coordinating sentiments, some adorable butterflies, and, of course, a garden full of hearts. It’s truly an all-around set that can work for so many occasions (even Valentine’s Day, which will be here before you know it!).

To create this card, I started out by creating a mask for the heart shape that serves as the border for my garden scene. Once I had that in place, I stamped the heart garden and then created more masks for each of the little heart flowers and for the grass.

With all masks in place, I blended the clouds using the cloud portion of the Clearly Besotted Around About stencil. I removed the grass mask and ink blended the grassy area before removing the rest of the masks. I then colored the little heart flowers with Copic markers.

I stamped the sentiment and then used a Wonky Rectangle Stax die to cut out the panel.

For a little dimension and some shine, I used a white gel pen to add highlights to the heart flowers and glued on a few drip drops.
I mounted the panel onto the card front using foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the Simon Says Stamp “To The Moon” release!

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

  1. What a beautiful card. I’m sure it made your friend smile! I found you at Simon Says Stamp. I will see if I can subscribe if you have Instagram or a newsletter. I like your written instructions. I love videos and watch some everyday, But when making a card from a tutorial, I personally like written over video because I don’t have to keep finding where I was on the video. It interrupts
my concentration. At my age, it doesn’t take much. (Giggle)

    • Thank you so much, Linda! I’m glad you were able to find me at Simon Says Stamp! I don’t have a newsletter (yet), but I do have a Facebook page which I post to whenever I put out a new blog post. You can get to my Facebook page (if you are already logged into facebook) by searching for @jean.studiojd. I’m so glad you like the written instructions. I have debated about whether to keep doing them or not so it’s nice to know that people use them. 🙂

I love to make cards and enjoy trying out new techniques and products. My artistic “style” differs almost daily – it just depends on what I’m making, the look I’m going for, who the intended recipient is, and, well, sometimes just the mood I’m in.
