Hi everyone!
Today, I’m sharing a card featuring this month’s Spellbinders Stamp & Die of the Month along with the Embossing Folder of the Month. I wanted to try something a little different with my background, and I love how this colorful, textured design turned out!

Creating the Background
For the vibrant background, I used Tim Holtz Watercolor Pencils in a fun and unexpected way. Instead of applying the color directly to the paper, I scribbled the watercolor pencils directly onto the embossing folder. Then, I lightly spritzed my watercolor paper with water before running it through my die-cutting machine. The result? An artistically blended and textured background full of organic color variation.

Bringing It All Together
Once the background dried, I kept the rest of the card simple to let it shine. A dimensional heart at the center adds a focal point, while a twine bow and a crisp sentiment strip complete the look. The sentiment, “Your strength inspires me,” felt like the perfect match for this design.

This technique was so fun to try, and I love the unique effect it creates. Have you ever used watercolor pencils with your embossing folders? Let me know in the comments!
I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!
