Playful Rainy Day Cards

Simon Says Stamp | Rain or Shine Release
04/03/2025

Hi there!

Rainy days just got a whole lot cuter with these two playful cards featuring the Simon Says Stamp “Rain or Shine” release! I love how these little bears and frogs bring so much personality to a simple design. To bring them to life, I colored the images with Copic markers, adding shading and details for extra depth. These cards capture the fun and charm of spring showers, perfect for brightening someone’s day!

Design Highlights

🌧 Copic Coloring – The bears, frogs, and umbrellas were all colored with Copic markers, creating soft blends and vibrant details.

☔ Rainy Day Details – One card features a stenciled rain background, while the other has clear embellished raindrops for added texture.

🎨 Clean & Simple Layouts – The white space makes the bright, cheerful images pop, keeping the focus on the adorable stamped elements.

A Closer Look at Each Card

💙 “I Toad-ally Love You” – For this card, I stamped and colored the bear and frogs, then masked them before stenciling in the rain. The bright rainbow umbrella adds a pop of color, and the lineup of frogs gives it a playful touch!

💛 “April Showers Bring May Flowers” – This design keeps things minimal with a single bear and frog scene, accented with clear raindrop embellishments to mimic falling rain. The sentiment ties it all together for a sweet seasonal greeting!

I love how fun and cheerful these turned out! Have you started making your spring-themed cards yet? Let me know in the comments!

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
