Painted Blossoms

11/26/2024

Hi there!

I am missing warm summer sunshine and gentle breezes, so I decided to protest the cold and general ick of fall and winter by spending a few days in my craft room creating some sweet floral cards.  It was a lovely distraction.

Today I’m sharing one of those cards – a sweet pink painted blossom branch with bright green leaves and a bit of artistic splatter.

I used the Altenew Painted Blossoms duo (stencil and stamp), along with the add-on coordinating die, to make the flower and leaves.  I purchased these products a while ago and, like often happens, life got in the way before I could do anything with them.  I’m so glad I was fed up with the weather and decided to search my crafting inventory because these flowers did wonders for my mood!

I placed the flowers around an oval cut-out on a card panel.  I then ink-blended my card front with a bit of pink.  I used the flower panel to determine the best position for my sentiment and then stamped it in the open area.  I adhered the flower panel with foam adhesive to give the card some dimension.

A added a few white splatters and some gems for sparkle.

If, like me, you love summer and sunshine and are lamenting warmer, brighter days, I hope this card encourages you to create with something that warms you from the inside!

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
