Hi there!
Popping in to share this super easy gender-neutral birthday card.
I love leaves – and of course, we’re coming into fall now so they are absolutely gorgeous around here – but I thought I’d go a different route with the colors on this card. Sometimes I get myself in a creative rut thinking everything has to fit within a season or a holiday…. Like everything in fall needs to be done with fall colors or everything in February has to be pinks and reds, etc. It’s nice to force myself out of those thoughts by suspending reality just a bit when I’m creating – and that’s what I was trying to do here.
To make this card, I used a new stencil from Simon Says Stamp’s Sweet Wishes Release called Stems and Leaves. I used a generous amount of Pixie Spray on the stencil before I started ink blending. I ink-blended using blues, teals, yellows, and greens randomly over the stencil before removing it to reveal the delicate leaf pattern.
I heat embossed a bold sentiment over the leaf pattern using white embossing powder, trimmed the panel, and popped it up with foam adhesive onto a piece of navy cardstock. I then adhered that to my card front.
So quick and easy! I hope you like this card and that you’ll try this approach if you ever find yourself in a bit of a rut like I did.
Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!
