My Courageous Friend

08/11/2022

Hi there!

I decided that it was time to do another clean and simple floral card. I haven’t done one of these in a while but I have a friend going through a hard time so I decided that this style would be perfect for her. Sweet, simple, and heartfelt.

I used an older die set for this card – I love that the Altenew classic florals never go out of style!

To put this card together, I die cut all the pieces and then ink-blended the different layers before putting the flower, stem, and leaves together with liquid glue.

I created my background by die cutting a smaller, stitched, rectangle and then splattered it with some black acrylic paint.

While the paint splatters dried, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using black pigment ink and clear embossing powder.

I assembled the entire card, popping the smaller rectangle up with foam adhesive and placing it in the lower right corner for a bit of interest. I added on the poppy, popped up the sentiment with more foam adhesive, and accented with just a few black enamel domed dots.

I just love how this card turned out and I hope you like it too! Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
