Pizza My Heart

02/11/2021

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today I’m sharing the card I made for my husband to celebrate Valentine’s Day – but to get the full effect and meaning behind this card, I need to share a couple of things:

First, pizza is my all-time favorite food. I could eat pizza every day, for every meal. It’s quick and it’s easy to change it up just by putting on different toppings. I think it’s pretty much perfect.

Second, I’ve adopted a funny habit of telling my husband “kid jokes” that frequently use some play on words. Here was my latest example:

Me: What do you call a fat psychic?
Husband: <eye roll>
Me: A four chin teller! Get it? Four chin – fortune? <laughing hysterically>
Husband: <more eye rolling, followed by quite laughing and head shaking>

Which brings me to the Valentine’s Day card I made for him, which proudly proclaims “You’ve Got a Pizza My Heart” on the front and “I’m still not sick of you” on the inside.

To make this card, I used the Honey Bee Stamps Soy Mates stamp and die set and colored the pizza slice with my Copic Sketch markers. I took inspiration for coloring my pizza slice from one of my favorite crafters, Bobbi Lemanski, who created the cutest card as a Design Team member for Honey Bee Stamps.

The inside sentiment is from the You Aren’t Normal stamp set from Technique Tuesday.

I think this card is the perfect way to express my love for my husband and reflects the fun and laughter we have shared for the past 21 years and I know he’ll get a kick out of it.

I hope you find the perfect way to celebrate the ones you love!

All the best,

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
