Just Because

Simon Says Stamp | STAMPtember release
09/11/2024

Hi there!

Today I’m sharing another card from the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember release!

This card features three new products from the release (products are listed below) and is full of layers and dimension.

To make this card:

  1. Stamp the Just Because Background stamp on watercolor cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat emboss it with white embossing powder.
  2. Use watercolor brushes, ink refills, or watercolor paints to add color over the embossed text.  I used watercolor brush markers for mine.  Set aside until fully dry.
  3. Die cut a semi-circle out of a card panel and set it aside.
  4. Die cut the Fancy Just Because die out of glossy black cardstock and then several times out of white cardstock.  Adhere the layers together to give the sentiment some height.
  5. Use foam adhesive to adhere the semi-circle panel over the watercolored panel.
  6. Use liquid glue to add the sentiment die cuts overlapping the semi-circle opening.
  7. Cut a sentiment from the Just Because sentiment strips and nestle it under the “because” using foam adhesive.  I doubled up my foam adhesive for this so that it would be higher than the “because”.
  8. Adhere to a card base.
  9. Add a few gems for some sparkle.

The bold colors on the background, combined with the shiny black sentiment and white card panel make this card pop and give it so much interest.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
