Hi there!
I can’t believe that Christmas is next week already. Maybe it’s age…or adulthood…or maybe both…but in any case, Christmas always seems to sneak up on me every year.
When I looked at my calendar, I realized that this is likely going to be the last holiday card I share for the 2024 season. I love this card, so in a way I feel like I saved one of the best (and easiest) for last. I hope you love it as much as I do.
And…if your holiday is full of hustle and bustle I want to take this time now to wish a happy and healthy holiday season filled with warmth and lots of love.
Ok. On to my card…
I started with the background. I searched my scraps for colors that I felt went well together. One of the scraps I found was textured with a corrugated look, another had some tiny gold stars. When I paired them with cream, kraft, and white, I felt like they all looked great together!
I cut the scraps into strips. I didn’t measure anything except to make sure that each strip was long enough to span the 4 ¼ width of my card.
Once I had a pile of strips cut, I applied double sided adhesive to a piece of white cardstock, and began adding the strips to the adhesive until I had a panel that was 3 inches high.
I adhered the panel to my card base with foam adhesive, then die cut the Ornate Star out of matte gold cardstock and adhered it to the panel.
I foiled a sentiment strip from my stash with gold foil and added it to the front of the card with more foam adhesive.
A few gold gems and this card was complete and oh! so gorgeous!
Have a wonderfully creative day and a very, very happy holiday!
