Hello, Peony

08/20/2024

Hi there!

Things have been crazy busy lately.  I travel for work (my day job) on occasion and this month is a big deal for my industry.  I’m an introvert, so big events and lots of “people time” are hard for me, but, the thing is, I just love the people I work with and have so many friends in the industry that it makes every bit of it so worth it!

I took a bit of time to create this pretty peony card right before I left for my biggest event.  I’m glad I did.  Creating is super therapeutic for me, and putting this card together helped me to head into my week feeling considerably more relaxed and even a little excited for the week ahead.

The peony and sentiment on this card are from a recent release from Simon Says Stamp.  The embossing folder background came out a few months earlier.  I love how versatile the Simon products are.  I could have easily used a darker background – or made this a sympathy card – depending on what I needed.

I hope you like this card and I really appreciate you stopping by my blog today!

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
