Halloween Wine Charms + Instagram Hop

Simon Says Stamp | Sweet Wishes Release
10/18/2024

Hi there!

Today we are having a hop over on Instagram to celebrate Simon Says Stamp’s new Sweet Wishes release.  Be sure to head over to my Instagram (@jean.studiojd) for more details and a chance to win a GIVEAWAY!!

For the hop, I’m sharing some fun wine charms I made using one of the new dies in this release (last week I posted this card using this same die, in case you missed it).

To make these charms, I die cut the Delightful Ghost die twice from some heavy card stock for each charm (so, a total of 8 die cuts for 4 charms).  I used a circle die to cut a circle around  each ghost.

I then used 2 circle dies to create four frames and ink-blended them with Oxide inks in some fun Halloween colors.

I adhered the 4 frames on 4 of the ghost cutouts and added some black cardstock behind the ghosts for its eyes.

I then took the remaining ghost cutouts and layered them on the back side of the charm just to make the back of the charms look clean.

I used scissors to cut a small “V” above the ghost so that it would slip around the stem of a wine glass.

As an optional step, I created a small round tag for each charm (ink blended with the coordinating color) and used an alphabet die to put the initials of the person who will get that glass.  The orange one with the “J” is mine. :-).  I used a piece of black twine to tie the tags to the charms.  You could skip this step but I think it personalizes the charms and makes them more…well…charming!

I hope you enjoyed this project and that it inspires you to create something fun!

Have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
