For You – A Gift Card Holder

05/01/2024

Hi everyone!

I don’t know about you, but the older I get the harder it is to find gifts for some of the younger people in my life.  I’m pretty sure this is a sign that I’m truly out of touch with what’s “cool” these days.  Ugh.

So, my best option for gifts is… you guessed it! A gift card!

The new A2 Gift Card Holder dies that are part of the Stampendous “All the Sentiments” collection at Spellbinders are a fantastic way to up your game in gift card giving!

To make this card:

  1. Follow the instructions for creating the gift card holder that are posted on the Spellbinders’ website (click here). Be sure to use 8# cardstock for the gift card holder pieces as anything heavier makes it difficult to close the card.
  2. Emboss a circle on an A2 white cardstock panel using one of the circle dies from the Essential Shapes circle die set.  Use the instructions on your die cutting machine for embossing a die cut – you do not want to cut the die – just get the dotted image embossed in your panel.
  3. Use a separate piece of white cardstock to die cut a circle that is slightly smaller than the one you embossed.
  4. Die cut your flowers and your sentiment (I used the sentiment that comes with the gift card holder).
  5. Die cut the rounded corner rectangles from white cardstock (you’ll need 2 of the larger ones and 2 of the smaller ones).
  6. Ink blend, assemble, and adhere your flowers and sentiment onto the circle die cut.  Set aside one small flower to use on the inside of the card.
  7. Ink-blend the edges of the 2 larger rounded corner rectangles with a color that coordinates with your flowers, then adhere the 2 smaller panels over them.
  8. Adhere your layered rounded corner panels over the gift card holder edges on the inside of your card (see image).
  9. Add your small flower to the corner on the inside of the card.
  10. Use foam adhesive to adhere your circle diecut to the outside of your card.

What do you think?  Will the gift card holder cards elevate my gift card giving game??

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

Hi Jean, That is the cutest little gift card holder. I just put it in my Spellbinders Wish List. I love the orange and coral shades you chose for your flowers.
I too am out of touch and a gift card always works. I just wish my nieces and nephews wouldn’t loose them. Oh well!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
