Simon Says Stamp | Holiday Sparkle Release
11/10/2022

Hey crafty friends!

It’s release day at Simon Says Stamp! I’m super excited to share several projects with you over the next few days I’ve made with all the fun products in this release! So, grab some coffee and come back to my blog often so you don’t miss anything!

Today I’m sharing this card duo I made using three new Simon Says Stamp products from this release – the Retro Layered Berries stencil set, the Pawsitively Velvet cardstock, and the Bold Christmas Acetate!

My husband’s family has a tradition of putting oranges (among other things) in their Christmas stockings. My family didn’t have Christmas stockings, so the whole concept of stockings was a bit new to me when we first got together, but I absolutely fell in love with it! Now, I can’t imagine Christmas without them! When I saw the Retro Layered Berries stencil, I immediately thought about the oranges and decided to take some creative liberty and turn the “berries” into oranges. I honestly love how it turned out!
One thing I love about this stencil is that it is really big – I was able to two card fronts at one time! Once the backgrounds were done, I foiled the acetate using copper foil and my Minc machine. I layered the acetate on a strip of white cardstock to make it stand out against the background. For each card, I cut out the sentiments using the dark green Pawsitively Velvet Cardstock that comes in the package. I just love the velvet feel of this cardstock! It adds a richness to the cards.

Once my cards were assembled, I added a few Pink Fresh Glitter Drops as a bit more shine. I’ve been loving on these glitter drops lately so you’ll be seeing them again soon!

I hope you enjoyed these projects and that you’ll find a way to take some creative liberties on your next project!

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
