Thanks A Bunch

Spellbinders | Plumeria
10/26/2021
Hi everyone!

I’m back with another card made using the new Plumeria Etched Die set that is part of the Susan’s Tropical Getaway Collection at Spellbinders.

I really needed a Thank You card…and I have been wanting to do something with purple flowers for a while… so I decided that this card would be the perfect way to achieve both! Necessity breeds invention, right?

I just LOVE the purple Plumeria on this card! Those blooms just look like the color purple was made for them! Rather than coloring each of the die cuts, I did a direct-to-paper technique with my ink pads. The colors melded perfectly – pale in some areas and bold in others.

I’m not sure how well it comes through in the photos, but the background for this card is super elegant! I clear embossed the Simon Says Stamp Thank You Background stamp on a piece of greenish purple patterned paper. By adding the Spellbinders hemstitched die edge and a double layer of the Spellbinders Wreath (one layer using white card stock and the other using vellum), I was able to get a lot of subtle layers and texture. The bit of silver in the foiled sentiment (Spellbinders Everyday Sentiments II Glimmer Hot Foil Plate) and the gems (Simon Says Stamp Moonshine sequins) gives this card a bit of shine.

I think it all came together beautifully and I really hope you get the feel for it in the pictures!

Be sure to check out Susan’s Tropical Getaway Collection – and all the other wonderful dies in the release!

Hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

Thank you, Linda! It was great meeting you, too and I am hoping we can get together again soon!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
