Spellbinders | Mini Inverted Squares
04/21/2022

Hi everyone!

Last week I posted a card featuring the Mini Crosses die set from Spellbinder’s new “Color Block Mini Shapes” collection. Today, I’m featuring another die from that collection called “Mini Inverted Squares”. This die is similar to the mini crosses die in that it has one “background” die and one “layer” die. The “layer” die cuts multiple mini inverted square shapes at one time – making it quick and easy to put together lots of cool designs!

For this card, I used both the background die and the “layer” die. I used my watercolor markers to add some vibrant color to watercolor cardstock and then die cut it with the “background” die. I then cut the “layer” die out of white cards stock.

I created a simple pattern on the front of a 4 x 4 inch card panel, adhered the pieces to the panel, and then popped that panel up on a 4.25 x 4.25 inch card base. I added a crackled iridescent gem to the center and an embossed sentiment strip to complete the card. I absolutely LOVE how the color on this card pops with the geometric design!
I hope you like this project and that you’ll check out the Color Block Mini Shapes collection at Spellbinders! This collection offers so much flexibility! Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
