Joy

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to be sharing a card I made using the new Simon Says Stamp release called “Handmade Holiday”!

Today’s card is one of several cards I made for this release and for all of them, I’m featuring the new 3D Christmas Cookie embossing folder. I just love embossing folders and this one is just adorable with all the little Christmas cookies. I think it makes the perfect background for anything and everything “Christmas”! I’ve used it in different ways for each of the cards I’ll be sharing over the next couple weeks. My hope is to show you how you can get different looks from the same embossing folder just by switching up a few things.

So, let’s get started: for today’s card, I’m sticking to the basics – just the embossing folder and some card stock! That’s it! No ink. No paint. Nothing but embossed card stock for the background. 😊 To complete the card, I’ve adorned it with a few dies, the gorgeous “Joy” sentiment that Simon released last month, and a few pearls.
I absolutely love the simple sophistication of this card and how the Christmas Cookies embossing folder adds the perfect amount of texture – it really is a great way to elevate your background! I’ll be posting another card using this embossing folder in a few days! For now, I hope you’ll get out your embossing folders and have some fun making backgrounds! Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
