Thinking of You

Spellbinders | Susan's Garden Club | Daffodil
11/15/2021

Hi everyone!

It’s starting to feel like Winter here in Wisconsin and I am soooooo not ready for it. But let’s be honest: I’m never ready for the snow and cold. Ever. I’m a Spring and Summer girl all the way.

So, to make me feel a little better and take my mind off the cold, I decided to make a card that is so much like Spring that it (almost) thawed me out just making it. 😊

This card features the Daffodil/Narcissus set from recent Susan’s Garden Club Collection at Spellbinders. You’ve probably figured out by now that I love these 3D flower dies. No lie: it feels like the flowers are blooming in front of my eyes as I’m making them. Daffodils are one of the first flowers we see here in the Spring. Typically, in some form of yellow or orange. For this card, I chose white with bright orange centers.
I used some soft yellow, pink, and orange inks to blend a flowy background, framed it in white, and added a bit of sparkle with some gold sequins. If you’re already yearning for Spring like I am, I hope this card warms you up a bit! I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
