A Little Something to Perk You Up

01/23/2023

Hi everyone!
Are you a morning coffee person? Or maybe tea or cocoa? For me, it’s usually coffee…the warmth and the bit of caffeine are usually just what I need to get me going on a cold Wisconsin morning.

Today’s card is a tribute to my cold-morning coffee routine! How cute is this curly-haired llama with his scarf and cup of coffee? Doesn’t he look cozy and warm?
To make this card:

1. Mask off the bottom third of a cardstock panel (I used Post-it masking tape) and
ink blend a green background so that it is darker at the bottom and fades as it
goes higher.

2. Remove the mask and cut the panel so that it is slightly smaller than your card
base.

3. Stamp your sentiment just below the ink-blended area and set the panel aside.

4. Stamp the images in Copic-friendly ink, color them with Copic markers, and die cut
them.

5. Arrange and adhere your colored pieces to the ink-blended panel.

6. Use foam adhesive to pop your panel up on your card base.

7. Add a few gems for a bit of sparkle!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope your morning coffee (or whatever you drink) hits the spot and gives you the perk you needed to face the day!

Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!

I fell in love with card-making many years ago and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I love trying out new techniques and finding the perfect color combination for whatever I’m creating.

By nature, I am an uber-organizer and a steadfast planner, but as you’ll see, my creations are much more fluid. And while I love color theory, the concept of lights and shadows, and the importance of depth and perspective – these are not things I worry about when it comes to my creations.

I simply find joy in creating and delight in sharing.

I hope that by sharing my cards and other art with you here on my blog I can inspire you to create something you love!
