Hi there!
I had fun playing with some easy water coloring on the diecuts for this bird and branch. I love the variation you can get from watercolors and I love that there are so many different ways to water color – from inks, markers, and pencils, to pans and liquid watercolors. I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with all these mediums to find my personal favorites.
For this card, I used my Tombow Dual Brush markers and a water brush to add color to the diecuts, then ink blended a blue background and popped up a frame. Super quick and easy but I think it turned out beautifully!
If you are interested in the technique for Tombow marker water coloring, it’s pretty easy: Just use the marker on the areas you want to be the darkest, then use the water brush to pull that color to the rest of the area. Once dry, you can go back in and add additional layers of color, or you can add more of the same color.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope this card inspires you to try some easy water coloring on your own cards!
Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone!
Hi, I love your card very much, the frame really brings out the bird. Are there any dimensions for your card please? Cheers and Thankyou, Marilyn.
Just love the frame that highlights the bird.
Thank you so much!
So tweet!! Love this little birdie!
